Features:

  • Anemometer
  • Analog Output from 0 to 4V DC
  • Measure wind speed
  • Max wind speed: 124 mph
  • Max Voltage (at max wind speed): does not exceed 4V
  • Nominal wind speed: less than 64mph (0 to 2V output)
  • As speed increases, voltage increases
  • Number of bowls: 3
  • Bowl Type: Spherical
  • Bowl Diameter: 1.5 inch
  • Bowl Pitch: 120 degrees
  • Diameter of Anemometer: 5.35 inches
  • Height: 2.6 inches
  • 46mm diameter base with 3 mounting holes 31mm apart from eachother (18mm from center)
  • Base Screw Hole Mount Size: M6
  • Cable Length: approx 9.8ft
  • Suitable for DIY Weather Stations, Raspberry Pi and Arduino Weather Station projects and other projects where a microcontroller is used to measure windspeed.
  • The sensor is self-generating, no additional power supply necessary. When there is wind rotation, it generates the voltage signal.
  • Pinout:
    • Red: Analog Signal Out - values from 0 to 4V DC (connect to microcontroller analog input pin)
    • Black: Ground - Ground 0V (connect to microcontroller GND)
  • Formulas for calculating wind speed from signal output voltage:
    • Voltage (V)*50=KM/H (wind speed)
    • Voltage (V)*14=M/S (wind speed)
    • If the current output signal voltage is 0.5V, it indicates that the current wind speed is about 25KM/H or about 7M/S
    • For threshold detection you can just look up the voltage on the graph provided and compare if the sensor's voltage is above the voltage for that wind speed.
  • Mount in a horizontal position
Is this anemometer waterproof?
Yes, it can handle rain and snowy weather conditions as long as it is not soaked / submerged.

Can it be hooked up to power with 120v or is there one I\'m confused about how it operates any feedback would be appreciated.
No power input is needed. As it rotates, it drives a small DC generator which produces DC voltage. The voltage output increases from 0 to 1.2V depending on the wind speed.
