This 8 Channel Relay Module is a great way to automate common tasks around the house. You can set up your own home appliance control using this relay module and an Arduino. This relay module takes a control signal between 2.5 and 5 Volts and controls a DC or AC signal, either closing the circuit when the control signal is on or opening the circuit when the control signal is off. This module is perfect for common Arduino-controlled automation applications.

To enable external relay power, such as when you're worried about having too much current draw because your Arduino is also connected to other current drawing devices, remove the jumper from the pins VCC and JD-VCC and connect your external power supply to the GND and JD-VCC pins.)
