This 8 Bit Parallel In and Serial Out Shift Register gives you the ability to collect 8 bits of data sent in simultaneously on the 8 Input pins and feed them out one at a time via the Serial Output Pins. This is most useful for using 1 pin of a microcontroller to collect data from 8 objects at once. 8 signal values come in simultaneously on the 8 input pins, they are latched into the chip and sent to the output pin one at a time via serial.
