This Infrared Proximity Sensor Short Range gives you an analog output that varies between 3.1V at 4cm and 0.3V at 30cm. All you need to do to get this running is hook up the included wires as follows:

  • Red: Supply voltage (4.5V - 5.5V)
  • Black: Ground (0 V)
  • Yellow: Signal 


The signal wire will vary between 3.1V and 0.3 V depending on the proximity of the object in front of the sensor. This is what you will hook up to your Arduino, Raspberry Pi, other microcontroller or circuit.
