This Pro Mini Breakout Board is a great alternative to an Arduino UNO in your projects. Just solder on the header & programming pins and pop onto a breadboard or solder directly into your projects to save space! Power using a 5V-12V power supply and that's it! Wire into your circuit using the pin diagram in the images above and plug into your computer's USB port using the FTDI 5V Cable to program! We love this little budget Arduino Compatible board because it is so much smaller than a standard Arduino UNO which makes it much better for placing into finished projects than a clunky UNO board and it's more economical than the Pro Micro. The main difference between the Pro Mini and Pro Micro is that the Pro Mini has header pins that require a separate FTDI USB Serial Cable for programming while the Pro Micro has an onboard microUSB port. We recommend the Pro Micro with onboard USB if you're working on a single project and don't already have the FTDI USB Serial Cable.

Features:

  • Our Second Smallest Arduino-Compatible Board! (Smallest is the ATtiny85 Breakout Board with 6 I/O pins)
  • ATmega328P running at 5V/16MHz
  • Supported in the Arduino Programming Software (IDE)
  • FTDI Serial Headers onboard for programming (requires FTDI Serial USB Cable for programming)
  • Supports Auto-Reset
  • 8 Analog I/O Pins
  • 14 Digital I/O Pins (6 are PWM capable)
  • Rx and Tx Hardware Serial Connections
  • Supports unregulated Power Supplies up to 12V via the RAW pin.
  • Includes Header Pins and Right Angle & Straight Programming Pins (you can use either one)

Specifications:

  • Main Chip: Atmega328P
  • FTDI Serial Headers on board
  • Input Power Supply: Accepts 5V - 12V on the RAW pin for powering the board
  • Operating Voltage: 5V (same as all other Arduino-based boards)
  • Frequency: 16Mhz
  • Comprable to the Arduino Pro Mini and other Atmega328P Breakouts
  • When Programming via Arduino IDE, be sure to select board type: Arduino Pro Mini (5V, 16MHz) w/ ATmega328

Initial Setup:

  • Plug your FTDI USB Serial Cable into your Computer
  • Connect the FTDI USB Serial Cable to your Pro Mini as shown in the image above
  • Open the Arduino IDE
  • In the Arduino IDE select Tools->Board->Arduino Pro Mini (5V, 16MHz) w/ ATmega328
  • In the Arduino IDE select File-> Examples->01.Basics->Blink
  • Click the Checkmark button on the top menu to verify the Blink code
  • Click the Arrow button to upload to your Pro Mini
